SourceCode Tags began as an idea about authenticating aircraft parts.  Originally they were called, accordingly, PartsCodes.  Above is a picture of the first parts we marked which are bearings from a Boeing Chinook helicopter.  In the picture on the left, the Tag is the tiny square mark visible at the 1 o'clock position on the outer ring of the top bearing.  In the picture on the right it is displayed close-up, with a few of the hand-etched characters that are part of the current method of identifying aircraft parts and recording their inspections.

Aircraft parts have a long history of stringent authentication and tracking procedures.  However, these systems can't track an object for its entire lifecycle or quickly determine a part's authenticity from the field.  SourceCode Tags overcome both those problems without conflicting with existing tagging systems.

Any SourceCode Tagged part can be authenticated, in seconds, anywhere in the World, at any time.
